This hour-long presentation will focus on how reporters should maintain and produce original transcripts in the digital age in order to maintain security and the integrity of the record. Additionally, we will discuss how civil procedure rules in states impact the role of original transcripts. With digital transcripts, we will also discuss the possible ways transcripts can be altered and stolen for use by a party, as well as the implications on the reporter if AI integration of the original transcript occurs and any state rules that impact the use of AI on original transcripts. Finally, we will discuss solutions and state laws regarding the theft of reporting services.
